AFL Round 11 2011 Results

AFL Round 11 produced several of the best games of AFL Football seen in 2011, even though most results were one sided affairs. Trailing by 26 points in the last quarter, Hawthorn kicked 8 4th quarter goals to claim third spot on the AFL Ladder 2011 defeating Freemantle by 22 points.

Sydney Swans booted 13 goals to 2 up to half time crushing Brisbane Lions by 65 points in what Syney coach John Longmire described afterwards as the most pleasing performance this year. Gold Coast Suns fought hard all day coming within 12 points in time on of the fourth quarter against West Coast Eagles before losing by the narrowest of margins of AFL Round 11 2011. Ablett was brilliant and defender Campbell Brown showed true courage standing up to the West Coasts forward attack.

By contrast Adelaide Crows laid down quietly against North Melbourne celebrating captain Brent Harvey's 311th AFL game for North Melbourne equalling the record set by Glenn Archer.

Collingwood cruised to their 57 point win over St Kilda, Carlton were never in any danger of losing against Port Adelaide in their 62 point win and Geelong Cats probably ended Western Bulldogs final campaign for 2011 with a 61 point lesson remaining on top of the ladder at the end of round 11 2011 results.

Winners of AFL Round 11 2011 were: Melbourne, Geelong Cats, West Coast Eagles, Collingwood, Sydney Swans, Hawthorn, North Melbourne, and Carlton with Richmond having a bye in Round 11 2011.
